- On-Demand
Service: The vehicle waits
for you at the station. No need to wait at the station like a
conventional train or trolley.
- Efficiency:
Over 100 MPG, with average
speeds of 30 MPH. Thirty MPH might not seem very fast, but the vehicle
never has to stop at a stop sign or traffic light, reducing your
overall
trip time. The average trip speed of a commuter rail is less than 30 MPH on most commuter lines.
- Driver-less:
Sit back, relax, and enjoy
the ride in privacy. You don't have to worry about traffic, stop signs,
or other people crowding around you.
- Non-Stop
Service: Stations are off the
main line, allowing you to travel directly to your destination.
Conventional trains are required to stop and on-load/off-load
passengers. The final destination is your only destination in a RailPodTM!
- Lightweight:
The vehicle will have minimal
effects on the wear and tear of track, reducing the need for track
maintenance. Less maintenance results in a quicker ride to your final
destination.
- Passenger
or Freight: Each vehicle
transports two passengers or pallets of freight, cargo,
or packages. Each vehicle can be customized to a specific application.
This allows both freight and passengers to travel at the same time on
the same track.
- Scalability:
A small quantity of vehicles
can be purchased to provide a basic level of service. Additional
vehicles can be added at a later time to meet increased demand. Small
towns and cities can take advantage of the RailPod without requiring
expensive upfront capital costs like that of a traditional train or
trolley.
- Low
Operating Costs: Operating costs are a
fraction of those of an automobile and significantly less than a
traditional train. Low operating costs allow operators to pay for the
system through passenger fares instead of requiring city, state, or
federal funding.
